Our Team

Ditas Rousseau

President

Ditas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Cebu Doctor’s College, Cebu City, Philippines.  She is co-owner and general manager of Escapades, Inc. a local small business focused on promoting indoor family entertainment in Muncie, IN since 1996.   Ditas serves on the Board of Directors of a 16-branch family business, Saga Motors Corporation in the Philippines, directly involved in the Finance and Development committee.  Additionally, for the last 12 years, she has worked full-time as a certified medical assistant at American Health Network, part of Optum, helping coordinate her husband Steve’s thriving family medical practice in a group of 19 providers.  She is a mother of four and grandmother of two.  A friend of Father André Sylvestre for over twenty-five years, Ditas has served as chairperson of OLPH Foundation and has been a member of the Board since its inception in 2014. She volunteers with various community organizations, including mentorship of local Catholic high school youth.

Mary Avila​

Treasurer

Mary is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a BS in Statistics.  She has ten years of experience as an actuary in the insurance industry and is Fellow in the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). She is currently a member of the Finance Council at St. Mary Parish, has been a key leader in the Diocesan stewardship program, and served as the PTO President at St. Mary School.  She has earned numerous awards for her work as a scout leader.  Mary is the mother of three and wife of Dr. Steve Avila, Professor of Finance and Insurance at Ball State University.  Mary is the sister-in-law of Teresa (Terry) Avila, Secretary of the Board.

Teresa Avila

Terry is a graduate of Ball State University and Virginia Tech University with a BA and MBA in Finance, respectively.  She has served in a variety of leadership positions at St. Mary Church and School, as an Instructor at Ball State University,  and an Economic Development Consultant for over 14 years.  Terry is the wife of Dr. Ramon Avila, Professor of Marketing at Ball State University, and mother of five children; Terry loves to bake, her favorite color is green, and puppies make her smile.  Terry is sister-in-law to Mary Avila, the Treasurer of the Board.

Mary Hinkle

Director

Mary Lou and David have been married for twenty-seven years.  Their focus is their blended family of seven children.  Mary Lou attended Ball State University.  She also attended cosmetology school.  Mary Lou worked many years as a foster parent and has adopted one child from foster care.  She currently works for Home Instead as a caregiver for the elderly.

Becky Hazen

Director

Becky Hazen attended Ball State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Becky is employed with Muncie Community Schools Co-op and NCA Therapy. Becky and her husband Neal have 8 children. Father Andre baptized their youngest daughter in May 2009. At the celebration following the baptism, Fr. Andre shared his vision of the orphanage and invited them to Haiti if the opportunity arose. Becky and her daughter Mary accepted his invitation and arranged a trip to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage during Christmas break 2010-2011. Becky returned to Haiti in December 2014-15 with daughters Rachel, Sarah, and Katie. Becky helps to serve our extended family in Haiti with her time, talent, and treasure. She works with a group that, for the past 10 years, has organized a large rummage sale. The profits help support the orphanage and promote its cause.
